The all electric HGV
We have been hearing more and more in the news about electric cars, from Tesla’s model S to BMW’s i8 but we heard very little about electric HGVs. It would appear that’s about to change. BMW and SCHERM have teamed up to produce the first ever all electric HGV. Weighing in at 40 tonnes and based on a model produced by Dutch manufacture Terberg.
The vehicle produces no C02 and a minuscule amount of particle pollution. It also has the benefit of being extremely quiet due to the lack of moving components found within vehicles that use a combustion engine and boast a considerable range, 100 kilometres to be exact. Is this the future for HGV’s? Perhaps!
