CLOCS scheme wins the International Road Safety Award
The CLOCS safety scheme, created by Transport for London (TFL), has been awarded the International Road Safety Award for its work in improving HGV and road safety.
By directly working with vehicle manufactures HGV’s operating in London are now required to be fitted with larger windows and lowered cabins to provide greater visibility for the driver.
Prince Michael said, “The private sector can make a huge contribution, especially when working closely with public authorities.
“In our cities, especially in London we face a continuing challenge to keep our pedestrians and cyclists safe.”
Ben Plowden, TfL’s Director of Surface Strategy and Planning, said the award was “a huge honour for our staff and our colleagues across the construction industry”.
